My reflection about reading

In the pictures presented, we can see people reading in different contexts: in class, in a library, at home, etc. All individuals are engaged in their reading process, but they are reading for different reasons and with different types of books. For example, the student in class is likely reading a compulsory book chosen by her teacher, similar to the girl reading with, presumably, her mother. On the other hand, we see people reading texts of their own choice, like the man reading a newspaper or the individuals in the library. From my perspective, this difference affects their perception of the reading process. Those who choose their texts are more engaged and likely enjoy it more, seeing it as a pleasure rather than a chore. I experienced this as a student myself. Looking at the picture of the student in class, I sometimes felt discouraged reading compulsory books imposed on us, viewing them as obligations.
